Cuisinart DCC-3000 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker Review

Cuisinart DCC-3000 Coffee Maker

True to the model’s taxonomy, this user friendly coffeemaker lets you have your coffee literally on demand, regardless of whether it is your morning cup to cheer you up or the nightcap before turning in. What’s more, it is fully programmable in terms of advance brewing of your favorite coffee and auto shutoff, while its self-cleaning facility spares you the irksome task of cleaning its innards periodically. In fact it reminds you as and when to start the auto-cleaning process (in-built device). It is one of the best Cuisinart coffee makers in the market that is loved for it’s quality features.

Two of the Cusinart’s DCC-3000 outstanding features include the pause effect which interrupts the machine’s regular setting for brewing 12 cups, if and when you insist on having a quick cup of coffee before others get a chance to taste the brew, while the 2nd one permits you to alter the regular setting (12 cups) and ask for smaller quantities (1-4 cups).

However, some of the easily adaptable features that sets the Cuisinart apart include the unit’s Removable Water Reservoir which can be detached from the machine for trouble-free filling and replaced again in its place, while the same applies to its Drip Tray Plate that holds the drip tray. Why, even the coffeemaker’s double-wall Coffee Reservoir that contains and keeps 12 cups of coffee piping hot can also be taken out when needed.

Cusinart DCC-3000, while brewing your favorite coffee also takes care of the unsavory tap water odor consisting of chlorine and sundry other water purifying agents by way of installing Charcoal Water Filter in the machine.  The filter reportedly can remove up to 78% unpleasant odor.

However, the most effective and useful devices that people appreciate well are the Coffee Gauge that lets you know how many cups of coffee are left in the Coffeemaker (after you have consumed your quota of Coffee) and the Hour and Minute buttons through which you could set the time of the day as also set the time for automatic functions.

All said and done, the most admired features that the Cuisinart DC 3000 boasts are (a) the power loss back-up system that provides full 60 seconds protection against failure of programmed setting on account of accidental power failure, tripping of breaker points or even unmindful disconnection of the power line to the machine and (b) the Ready Tone that signals the end of the brew cycle.

Nevertheless, the Cusinart DC3000 Coffee Maker has its flip side too. This includes:

Poor Customer care: Totally unwilling to replace an obviously defective part.

Messy Clean up: If you fill the water to the 12 cup mark, expect a very messy clean up as the grounds overflow from the basket into the coffee and they also spill up and clog the water holes. We make only 10 cups to alleviate the big mess from filling the basket to what the instructions recommended. Clean up is a real chore and we usually put in a few cups of water and run it through the machine without the grounds to clear out the mess after every other brew cycle. Very disappointing!

Leakage: If the basket is not placed properly in the machine, the coffee leaks while brewing continues.

Overall verdict:

Considering all the plus points and subtracting a few minus points, Cuisinart DCC-3000 Coffee-on-Demand 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker is worth its price, because for the 1st year and half, it will give you perfect service. But beyond that, you may have to keep your fingers crossed.
